SK eliminated from WESG by BIG and Russia

The Brazilian side, one of the favorites for the event, was eliminated in the first group stage with two losses out of two matches.
SK started their tournament in Haikou, Hainan, China by playing Russia on Overpass. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo and co. started CT, but lost the pistol round to a 1v3 Denis "electroNic" Sharipov clutch. Russia gained momentum after that and managed to finish their Terrorist half with a 9-6 lead.
After the switch, SK won the pistol, but Russia turned it around quickly by winning the force-buy and went 12-7 up. The Brazilian side put up a fight as Terrorists, but fell 16-10 in the end as Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov and electroNic put up great performances for their side.

The Brazilians once again had a slow start against BIG, who secured the first three rounds as Terrorists on Train. SK didn't let the game slip away easily, though, and picked up eight out of the next 10 rounds, making the score 8-5. The Germans were clutch towards the end of the half, and switched to the CT side with a minimal, 8-7 deficit.
Despite losing to a force buy after winning the CT pistol, BIG quickly established themselves on the defense and went on a streak of CT rounds, with Johannes "nex" Maget leading the way for the Germans. He ended up with 30 kills in the end and a 1.70 rating, allowing his team to win the map 16-11 and eliminate SK.
